Access and prep in the Bronx
Grinding equipment is heavy, so we plan parking and unloading around limited curb space and book freight elevators where a building has one. Dust from grinding is captured at the machine, and work stays inside the building’s allowed hours. Prep is often the longest step: old paint and residue are ground off, cracks and joints are filled, and a moisture reading guides the primer. A slab that is still curing or actively wet is not coated until it is ready.
Choosing between epoxy and polish
Sound slabs that suit a low-build look favor polished concrete, which keeps the slab itself as the floor with sheen from flat to high gloss. Worn, pitted or chemical-exposed slabs favor epoxy, which bonds a new surface on top. Grind-and-seal is a lighter option but needs resealing over time.
