Park Slope is cream of the crop among Brooklyn neighborhoods. It has even been called one of the best nabes in America. It has all of the most desireable features: trees & parks, historical architecture, shopping & dining, low crime, convenient transportation to Manhattan, top schools, active community & cultural diversity. It’s a place that many visiors also enjoy with it’s hip, vibrant & casual vibe.

Beautiful Brownstones

Park Slope is full of tree lined streets with beautiful, historical brownstones. Wood floors go hand in hand with brownstones and Park Slope is a neighborhood we frequent for wood floor sanding & refinishing. These homes are often garnished with very ornate custom wood work and trim.

Socially Conscious Community

The neighborhood is a very tight knit community of families and young professionals. There is a strong sense of open mindedness where everyone is very socially & environmentally conscious. Like Williamsburg it also has that laid back & creative hipster vibe with a presence of many artists, musicians & writers.

Local Shopping, Dining & Music

5th & 7th Avenues in Park Slope are full of trendy shops, restaurants, cafes, bars & boutiques. Vintage book & record stores are common. Locals are dedicated to patronizing everything local. You’ll find only local businesses, no chain stores or restaurants. Every business adds to the unique vibe. In the evenings intimate & ambient casual dining comes alive. Farmers markets and a food coop offer down to earth, local & organic foods. The local music scene is alive with a stream of indie performances in bars, cafes & outdoor concerts.

Parks & Gardens

Park Slope sits right next to Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The neighborhood is abound with greenspace, gardens, walkways & meeting spots. It’s always alive with people walking, jogging & lounging. It’s a cultural mecca with all this and other interesting places like Union Hall, Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Museum & Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.

Family Friendly

The neighborhood is also known as a haven for families & children. Parks are plenty with playgrounds and sidewalks are teeming with strollers. These features combined with low crime and top schools makes Park Slope very attractive for families. It’s an ideal American neighborhood very close to Manhattan yet with a suburban vibe.

windsor-terraceWindsor Terrace

Windsor Terrace is neighbor to Park Slope and bordered by Prospect Park and Greenwood Cemetary. It’s also a close knit neighborly community with an easy going suburban vibe. The area is mostly residential with much less shops and dining options than Park Slope. Though on the commercial streets hip establishments like cafes, yoga studio & vegan restaurants are popping up more and more. Again, it’s local businesses only, with the exception of a Walgreens. Considering it’s so close to Manhattan it’s a rather quaint neighborhood with a village vibe.

There’s not much nightlife like there is in Park Slope. For folks who want to be in a quiet area pretty close to nightlife but not in the midst of it, Windsor Terrace is the place. And it does have the nice tree lined streets like you see in Park Slope.

The housing stock consists of one and two story detached wood houses, brick rowhouses and several apartment buildings. Windsor Terrace housing is a little moe affordable than Park Slope. It offers cheaper housing, quietness and close proximity to Prospect Park and all that Park Slope has to offer.
